Mac Overheating?

How can you fix an overheating mac?

So you have your mac and you are running some really demanding software. Your surface temperature on your mac is increasingly getting hot. Here is an easy solution!!!

So what we are going to be doing is controlling the internal fan speeds on the mac using a program called Macs Fan Control. We will set the fan to account for the temperatures of the CPU Cores so that even the surface temperatures will be limited.

1. Download Macs Fan Control for MacOS here: https://github.com/crystalidea/macs-fan-control/releases/download/v1.4.12/macsfancontrol.zip

or download Macs Fan Control for Windows OS here: https://www.crystalidea.com/downloads/macsfancontrol_setup.exe

2. Launch the software.

3. You should now see a fan icon in the Menu Bar. Click it and select "Show Macs Fan Control".

4. In the row of "Left side" click the button next to "Auto". Make sure that the "Sensor-based value" is selected and change "Temperature that fan speed will start to increase from:" to 45 Degrees Celsius and click "OK".

5. Now do the same for the "Right side".

6. Now click "Preferences" and check "Autostart minimized with system (recommended)" if you would like the program to control the fan speeds as soon as you start your mac. If not, you can launch the program yourself when you do your hardware intensive tasks.

7. You should be all set now and enjoy your cooler mac!!!
